    Why this site???

I used to be an inadvertent evangelizer.  I was "evangelizing" without knowing
that was what I was doing. Many of you may be in the same situation. This site
is designed for anyone who wants to be more purposeful in living their faith and
helping others to do the same.

In 2003,  I was invited to be a member of the Evangelization Committee for the
Archdiocese of Chicago.   At that point, I became more focused and intentional
in my efforts to help others deepen their relationship with God. I helped
parishes implement the Archdiocesan Evangelization Plan: Spreading the Holy
Fire, prepared materials for workshops, Leadership Day, and for the
Evangelization Institute of Chicago. I wrote articles on "practical
evangelization" for The Catholic New World from 2003 - 2007, and the The
Inside Passage (diocesan newspaper for the Diocese of Juneau, Alaska).
(Some of these articles were later reprinted in church bulletins.)  I also wrote
the Evangelization Newsletters sent out by the Office for Evangelization for
    the year 2006.

In addition, I accompanied Fr. Robert Barron (www.wordonfire.org) on his
talks during Lent 2006 as His Eminence, Francis Cardinal George launched
Mission Chicago, and then again in the Fall of 2006 when Fr. Barron returned
to talk to the business and professional community during Chicago's Year of
Evangelization.  I compiled and analyzed the surveys given at those talks which
told what you, the lay people, wanted and needed in the way of spiritual
    programs.

I was blessed to work closely with Fr. Joseph Kruszynski, former Director of
the Office of Evangelization who passed away in February 2006. I was also
privileged to work with Fr. Frank DeSiano and Fr. Charlie Brunick, of the
Paulist Fathers, the beautiful Daughters of St. Paul, Bishop William Houck,
former President of the Catholic Church Extension Society and a former Chair
of the USCCB's Evangelization Committee (now allegedly retired...), and Fr.
John Hurley, former Executive Director of the Secretariat of the US
Conference of Catholic Bishops, organizer of the fabulous NAICE Conference
in Portland in 2003,  and now the founding Director of the Paulist's North
    American Office for Reconciliation.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with the other talented and inspired
members of the Evangelization Committee, the awesome deacons we've
worked with and all of the lay volunteers who helped with the Evangelization
Institutes over the last few years.

Mostly, I have been blessed to have the guidance and encouragement of my
dear cousin, Michael Warfel, Bishop of Juneau, Alaska, who is the one who got
me involved in all of this evangelization business!

Much has been given to me, and I believe it was meant to be shared freely.

As with any evangelization project I undertake, my goal is to help even just one
person. When you consider the battle waged every day in the minds of men and
women between good and evil, right and wrong, one cannot help but realize the
immense value of even just one soul.

I hope you enjoy this site. It was built for you or perhaps someone you love.  If
you have ideas on how to improve it or evangelization ideas you want to share,
feel free to e-mail me at Linda.Weaver@cna.com.    If you think there is
anything useful here, share the website with your friends, family, parishioners
    and co-workers

THE NEW EVANGELIZATION: It can change the world.

    Spread the Word!

    Faithfully yours,
